Tell 'em that its my Birthday...

Tell 'em that its my birthday, they don't know so its okay, tell 'em that its my birthday when I party like that! If y'all know that song- you are officially my best friend! Anyways,

and welcome to my blog!

So, as if you couldn't tell by the title of today's post, we are gonna talk about... you guessed it, MY BIRTHDAY! Now, usually I don't give two flying hula hoops about my birthday (or to share it) but for some reason me turning 20 (!) makes me wanna. I know... I have one more year before my actual big birthday but, I ain't about that life, so I decided id settle for 20 and call it even- I'm not a teenager any more!

Anywho, my birthday celebrations began on Saturday, October 10 because my oh-so-wonderful-but-under-appreciated boyfriend actually took me to my very first Alabama football game! Alabama vs. Arkansas, and if you don't care about football then I completely understand but y'all- that was a nail biter! T'was a really good game- and a wonderful day! We loved it and enjoyed each others company. To top it off he also bought me this super adorable shirt for the game too... (but you'll be seeing it in Friday's post!)

Sunday, after church he took me to get my nails done (if I have yet to rave about a gel-manicure insert that now!) at my absolute favorite nail salon in the local area. He actually picked out the nail color as well (and it turned out pretty!). It is an exact dupe for one of my favorite lipsticks- Wet 'n' Wild Cherry Picking... i'm in love (with Justin too of course)! Afterwards he took me to Ruby Tuesdays, which is one of my two favorite restaurants. Which if you guys go... get a Strawberry Fizz (it's non-alcoholic and free refills!) its AMAZING!

Possibly the biggest part of my birthday was the surprise birthday party he through me... complete with ice cream cake, singing candles, and my favorite water! It was truly a surprise and I hope a can at least be in the ball-park for his birthday coming up in December!

To keep this post as short as possible, i'll go ahead and talk about the day I was actually born now! October 12! I got to sleep in, my mom and grandma made one of my favorite meals (cubed steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, collard greens, and fresh green beans) and while they were cooking all that, my dad took me to get a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen (which is love). Finally, we had cake that tasted like Fudge Stripes Little Debbie Cakes (YUMMY!)

And that Ladies and Gentlemen was my birthday! Hopefully this gave you guys some ideas for birthdays for your loved ones (or maybe yourself!) and i'd love to know what you guys do for your birthdays!

Love,

Curly Hair, Don't Care!

 Welcome to my blog...
Today I wanted to talk about a subject that I seriously care nothing about, but I always seem to get asked about whether it be out with the girls or my family or just running errands. What could this possibly be? Hair!

Honestly, my own boyfriend cares more about his hair than I do- terrible, I know. It actually taken me years to start liking my hair. Which leads me to this story... when I was around 13 or 14 I experimented with my hair a lot and damaged it a lot more.

Why? Because it's what everyone did and I just wanted to be cool like everyone else. Don't get me wrong it was pretty, but it came with pretty damages too. So now, I have to fight with those damages. But the good part is my hair is naturally very curly and has gained a lot of its thickness back from the damages I've done. And I've been able to do this in a healthy manner. So something you all should probably know is, I don't have a hair stylist- for many reasons- but I do trim my hair myself. On to my secrets? On to my secrets! Okay, so maybe they aren't secrets but whatever it is- here it is!

When it comes to washing my hair I've stood by Suave Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner for as long as I can remember and its for good reasons I can assure you- its the only thing that gets the dreaded tangles out of my hair. It's a moisturizing formula so it helps maintain frizz and dryness that comes with the thick, curly hair.

Occasionally I use Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo before the Suave just because I do take a considerable amount of time between washes so I find this helps with stripping oils from my hair. Now, stripping oils isn't healthy but because I accumulate natural oil with other oils its okay every now and then. But its ultimately your choice to do this. I also deep treat my hair twice a month with Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Treatment Hair Mask.
(This can be bought at local drugstores as Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid)

Now, styling is super simple.

I simply use a little bit of OGX Extra Penetrating Argan Oil of Morocco. You may think I'm absolutely crazy but my hair looks dull and dry even when it isn't. The oil gives it shine and it much healthier than a mouse or hair gel. With it being applied to the bottom first and worked up to the top (just as you should brush your hair) it never gives your hair an oily look up top.

That is basically everything I do to my hair but I have put together a few other tips and tricks for you guys before we call this post quits.

-In the shower: Wash your hair as you typically would but when you apply your conditioner leave it in to soak until you are completely done with your shower and then brush it (again starting from the bottom and working up to the top). You would be amazed at how much this helps me!

-Infusium 23... The oldest trick in the book. Spray it on and then brush again. I'm tender headed and anything to dodge pain i'm down with!

-For super sexy, Victoria Secret-ish curls (with no heat!)

try braiding your hair while its still damp and sleep throughout the night like that. When you decide to go out, let the braid down, fluff the hair, and spritz with hair spray and ooh-la-la! Gorgeous! Recommendation: try to find a hairspray that doesn't list alcohol as the first ingredient, it'll be less damaging to your hair.

I hope you all enjoyed and let me know if you want to see anything special!

    Love,

One Girl... Lots of thoughts!

Hello everyone and welcome to my NEW blog! I'll get to that new part in a second or two but first let me introduce myself to all of y'all who don't know me!

My Name is Kayla, I just turned 20 years old and I live in a small town located in Alabama. I like to consider myself a Southern Belle- but I'm simply just Kayla! I am not your typical country-music listenin', horse ridin', farm caretaker that everyone labels us "Alabama" folks as, although I do enjoy a little dirt road riding, shoes are a no-go for me, and I do yell "Roll Tide" pretty loud on Saturdays during football season. So, I guess there are just some people out there that just have no title- and I suppose I am one of those!

Now back to this new blog thing. This IS my second blog, yes my second. My first blog goes by the name of Lace in Ruffles and it is basically an all beauty related blog that I really haven't kept up to date. I would always write posts to put up that would never go up and I'd always write those updates about life and why I've neglected it so much but, I realized that I just really wasn't happy with that blog.

Now, don't get me wrong- I loved communicating with my viewers but I truly feel that there is just so much more to be expressed on a blog than simply make-up and traditional "beauty guru" related topics. That was all I felt that really belonged there and to post anything else was just odd- I hated feeling that way! Not only that but I was so focused on being sponsored that I only expressed myself in more of my much later posts, when being sponsored didn't mean much to me and I was just doing it for fun (which is funny because that is when I actually started getting opportunities). I love writing and planning and putting together makeup looks and so many other things as well. I am the sarcastic and silly person I later expressed but I'm also outgoing and happy and I care WAY too much about Disney. So for me, I wanted a blog that I was happy with and a blog I felt my viewers could be happy with too!

Therefor, I'm gonna blog about what I want and forget about what everyone else is doing. With that being said... Y'all feel free to comment down Below or email me anything you'd like to see on my blog! Laceinruffles@gmail.com

Also, I will be posting on Mondays and Fridays!

Love,

P.s. I am considering my YouTube channel again, y'all let me know if that is something you might like or nah!
